Dynamic Sizes

Using the template builder, you can easily add different sizes to your template based on your Original Size using our smart resizing algorithm. The Original Size being the canvas size you build your creative in. Whenever you feel that your creative is finished, that’s the moment to add sizes. Of course, you’re still able to make changes to each separate size.

Add Size

Just beneath the canvas, you see the name and size of your Canvas. The standard name of your first canvas being Original Size, followed by the actual size in pixels between brackets, for instance: Original Size (864x1080). When you click on this, it opens up a modal that shows a blue button to Add Size.

When you press on Add Size the platform will present you with a lot of common sizes for video, image and banners formats to choose from. To the right of the screen you can set the:

  • Size Name
You’re free to determine and change the name of your Canvas Size.
  • Width and Height
Here you can adjust and customize the size of your canvas by setting the width and height in pixels.
  • Source Size
Here you can select the Source Size on which our platform should base the automatic resizing to your new size. Standard, the platform chooses the existing canvas size that comes closest to the size you want to add regarding aspect ratio. As this existing size probably depicts the way the elements should be placed on the new size in the best way. Here you can always adjust this to your liking.
  • Preview
The preview player gives you a quick idea of how your new size will look when you add it.

After adding a size, the template builder will automatically open this new canvas size.

Toggle between sizes

Once you have multiple sizes within your template, you can toggle between them by clicking on the Size Name just below the canvas. This will open up a modal that shows you all the existing sizes. By clicking on a size, you will switch to this size, opening the according canvas.

Manage Sizes

At any stage, you can manage your sizes by clicking on the Size Name just below the Canvas. Besides the Add Sizes button and an overview of the existing sizes, this will also show a Manage button. When you Click on Manage the platform will present you a window where all the existing sizes are listed to the left. When you click on a size listed, it will show the settings of this size on the right. Here you can change the:

  • Size Name
You’re free to determine and change the name of your Canvas Size.
  • Width and Height
Here you can adjust and customize the size of your canvas by setting the width and height in pixels.
  • Preview
The preview player gives you a quick idea of how your changes with look (if you adjusted width and height).

When you’re satisfied you can press Save. If not, you can always Cancel.

  • Deleting a size
When you have multiple sizes, you can always choose to delete a size, by clicking on Delete beneath the preview player.

Adding elements to multiple sizes

When you have multiple sizes in your template, it’s possible to add new elements to all sizes or just to the size you’re working on at that moment (the canvas you have open in the Template Builder).

The first time you add a new element to a template that has multiple sizes, the platform will ask you to set your preferred behaviour for new elements. You can choose between:

  • Show new elements on other sizes
This means that all new elements you add to one size will be automatically also placed on all other sizes using our smart resizing algorithm.
  • Hide new elements on other sizes
This means that all new elements you add to the size you’re working on, will only be placed on that specific size. It won’t be placed on all other sizes you have in your template.

You can change your default behaviour in the Template Properties, as shown in the video below. You can also – at any time – change the visibility of elements on all sizes after you’ve placed them (read the section below).

Showing/hiding elements on different sizes

You can – at any time – change the visibility of elements on all sizes after you’ve placed them.

  • Go to the layer of the element on the timeline and hoover above the eye-icon in front of the layer.
In the modal that appears, you’ll see a list of all sizes in your template. On top of the list is the Current size, below it are all other sizes.
  • By clicking on the Eye-icon in front of a size, you can set the visibility of the element for that size.

    • When the Eye-icon is greyed out and crossed out, the element is hidden.
    • When the Eye-icon isn’t greyed out and crossed out, the element is shown.
